The website layout
Top navigation
This area contains links to various other pages within the website.
Search box
Use the search box to quickly find products in the store. Just type in
the name and or description of the product you are looking for in the
space provided and click on the go button.
Basket information
Whenever you add a product to the basket, this area of the screen will
display the number of items in your basket along with the total price
of everything in the basket.
Product box
Where ever you see the product box, you can click on the picture or product
name, to get more information about the product and the opportunity to
add the product to the basket.
Catalogue navigation/menu
The initial list you see is the top category - this is how we have classified
our products.
Browsing the product catalogue
To browse through our product catalogue, move you mouse over a category and a new menu/navigation window will be displayed. This new menu/navigation contains the sub product catagory menu/navigation - click on a sub catagory to display all products in the selected category.
If you click on a top category name, the sub categories will be displayed on the page. Click on a sub category name to display all products under the selected category.
Product list page
In most cases, there are lots of products under a sub category and loading every item at once on the page, might be slow or make the page too long to browse, so we only list a number of product page screen. Use the page navigation (look for "Product list: 1 2 Next Last") to move through pages.
On the product list page, click on "Add to basket" to add the product to your basket or "(More details)" to view more information about a product - including a bigger image of the product.
The product detail page
When you click on "(More details)" or a product image displayed in a product box, you are taken to this page - the product detail page.
Product specification
This area contains more detailed information about the selected product.
If you are buying a PC games (software) or PC hardware (e.g. a digital
camera) - we provide you with summary or sometimes detail information
about the product.
Click on the "Add to basket" button to add the current product to your shopping basket.
Basket information display
Every time you add a product to the basket, this area will be update to refect the content of your shopping basket.
You can click on the basket information line to display the basket.
The basket page
Checkout
Once you are happy with the content of your basket (this is like your
shopping trolley), click on the "Checkout" link to go to the
address and payment information page.
Change quantity
On the basket page, you can change the quantity you wish to buy by typing
over the default quantity of "1". When you change the quantity,
enter the quantity you want and the basket will be automatically updated
to reflect the changes - including updating total prices.
Remove item
Use this button to tell the system to remove/delete an item from your
basket.
Checkout button
If you are happy with the content of your basket, click on the "Checkout"
button to place your order.
Secure order/checkout page
This page is SECURE (check the yellow padlock at the bottom of your browser window) - this means that the connection between your computer at home to our computer is totally secure.
All information you submit on this page is encoded and can only be decoded by our computers. This is the same security system used by every online store and online bank.
Displayed at the top of the page is your basket information.
Enter your billing and delivery address information. You only need to enter a delivery address if the billing address is different from the delivery address. Please note we only ship to the UK.
To help us and to make sure your get your order delivered to the right address, please use the "Postcode checker" to make sure your postcode is correct before submitting the order form.
Payment and comments
In the payment area of the page - enter your credit card information and click on the "Place order" button. Please only click the "Place order" button once.
Once you have clicked on the "Place order" button, our computer will connect to your bank to check your credit card and address information. If everything is ok, you will be directed to the "Thank you page".
If for any reason, your bank does not authorise payment for the total amount, you will be redirected to the order/payment page to retry.
Thank you page
Once your order has been authorised, you should see the "Thank you page" with detailed information about your order. A confirmation email will be sent to the email address you submitted.
- We only charge your credit card when we dispatch your order.
- A dispatch notification will be sent via email when your order is dispatched - this will sometimes include a shipping tracking number and website address to track your order.
